| Frye will be counted on heavily this season. He is the Wildcats' top returning rebounder and its most experienced starter. Frye is easily the Cats’ top player in the post. He needs to emerge as a leader after being a fantastic complimentary piece.
Frye has added some size and will be tougher to push around on the blocks, but will never be confused for a banger. He’s a finesse player who needs to maintain his tenacity all season long.
On the offensive side, expect the junior to showcase a wider variety of skills. He was rarely called upon to step out and knock down the jumper, but with the loss of the three seniors that may be a necessary part of his arsenal. In preseason pick-up games Frye has shown a good ability to put the ball on the floor and slash to the hoop, but those skills may be in put on hold until he gets to the next level.
Defensively he is the team’s best shot-blocker and will be vital on the glass, especially if the Cats need to go small. He has been a very good defender against other finesse players, but has not excelled against big-bodied types. He needs to develop a greater desire to battle down low.
