LAMAR CONSOLIDATED: Jacquizz (Ja-QUIZ) is one of the most honored prep players in the state of Texas...nicknamed “Mr. Touchdown” by his teammates, he broke the state record for scores with 136...named the inaugural Texas Associated Press Player of the Year in 2007 after leading Lamar Consolidated to its first ever state title...added Texas Sports Writers Association 4A Offensive Player of the Year...rushed for 2,902 yards and 43 touchdowns as a senior – for his career he gained 8,245 yards, the sixth-highest total in the state...rushed for 100-plus yards 41 times (2nd in Texas all-time) and for 200-plus yards 21 times...First Team EA Sports High School All-American and 2008 Parade All-American...Old Spice Red Zone and Built Ford Tough Player of the Year for Texas...played safety on defense....selected one of six Texas high school “scholar athletes of the year”...also played basketball and track, lettering four years as a point guard and three years as a relay runner.
PERSONAL: Born in Richmond, Texas...son of Tasha Williams...has three siblings, including brother James, a sophomore receiver at Oregon State...several former prep teammates are playing at Division I schools...Michael Lewis of the 49ers is an uncle...spoke about the dangers of drugs at elementary schools in the Richmond area...highlighted in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd feature of the May 12, 2008 edition...chose OSU because of the “coaches encouraging education, Coach Riley, the city and the friendly students”...undecided major. |
