Arizona defeated Central Michigan 19-6 Saturday night, as it was led by a 118 yard rushing effort by Nicolas Grigsby.

Grigsby had a huge third quarter, but many will overlook his effort due to two main factors.

First, Matt Scott is obviously the man for the future. Although Mike Stoops took blame after the game for not playing Nick Foles, Scott seemed to have the confidence of the coaching staff.

He may have overthrown the ball a couple of times, but once Scott got confidence, he realized that he could get yardage on the ground and posed major problems for CMU as he rushed for nearly 90 yards.

Of course, both efforts would have meant nothing if it was not for Alex Zendejas and his school-record tying four field goals.

After Zendejas' effort in camp left a lot to be desired, he came up with a huge effort in the season opener as he only missed one attempt.

With the win, Arizona will likely start the season at 2-0 after NAU next week and looks to build off of it.

One specific player who wants to build is Scott, who completed 19-of-30 passes for 202 yards, and he was intercepted once.

Defensively, Arizona held Dan LeFevour to 108 passing yards, his third-fewest in 40 career games.

In addition, Vuna Tuiahalamaka led the team with 10 tackles and an interception.
