Is Arizona's bubble bursting?

With
Arizona
’s 69-53 loss to
Washington State
on Thursday, you have to start to get very concerned with the Wildcats’ chances of making a 25th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
Arizona’s team – with the exception of
Nic Wise
in the first half and
Jordan Hill
in the second – was almost completely lifeless throughout the team, especially in the second half.
Chase Budinger
has now had two bad games in a row,
Kyle Fogg
had one of his worst games of the season following perhaps his best,
Jamelle Horne
continues to do absolutely nothing for Arizona and
Fendi Onobun
was brutal.
What’s worse is that UA desperately needs a win at the least likely place to get one: at
Washington
on Saturday, a game in which the Huskies can clinch a Pac-10 title with a win.
What it comes down to is that – assuming UA loses to Washington - Arizona must sweep
California
and
Stanford
at home next week and then the team might even need a win in the first round of the Pac-10 tournament.
Even more bad news is that if the tournament was played today, that first round Pac-10 tournament game would be against
UCLA
.
It’s getting desperate for the Wildcats if they’re going to continue their drive for 25.
