Houston’s Ndudi Ebi has led his Houston (Westbury Christian), Tex. team to a 10-2 record so far this season. The 6-9 forward is averaging 24 points, 12 rebounds plus three blocks and three steals a game.
Kirk Walters just began his season and is catching fire. His Grand Rapids )South Christian), Mich. team in Grand Rapids, Michigan is 3-0. Walters averages 17 points, 12 rebounds and an astounding 11 blocked shots.
“You can see why we think he’ll be one of the real sleepers in the senior class,” Lute Olson said.
Point guard Mustafa Shakur has had to take a bigger scoring role this season than he would like and is pumping in 24 points a game. Although his team is just 5-3, Shakur is doing everything he can do to make Friends’ Central in Wynnewood, Pa. better. Shakur is averaging nine rebounds and nine assists a game as well.
The Wildcat coaches are obviously pleased.
“All three are doing well,” stated Olson. “Well, not just in the scoring end, but in all phases of the game.”
