Arizona continued its winning ways on Tuesday by defeating Loyola Marymount by the score of 84-57 in front of an announced crowd of 12,339 at McKale Center.

Arizona improved to 5-1 on the season with the win. LMU fell to 0-7 in its disappointing season.

The Wildcats were led by the 15 points and 17 rebounds of junior center Jordan Hill, as 10 points and 7 rebounds from Chase Budinger and 15 points from Nic Wise.

However, the biggest surprise of the night no doubt came from Zane Johnson, who scored 17 points on 5 of 9 shooting from three. Johnson destroyed his previous career high in all categories, as he was unstoppable from long distance throughout the game.

The reserves got some key minutes from the Wildcats, as Brendon Lavender contributed 5 points and 2 assists in 15 minutes, while Kyle Fogg had 8 points in 16 minutes. Both players showed why they should be nice contributors in the future for Arizona.

Jamelle Horne was respectable, scoring 5 points with 7 rebounds. Alex Jacobson was also decent with his 4 points and two boards in 10 minutes.

The two disappointing performances belong to Fendi Onobun (2 points and 3 fouls in 10 minutes) and Garland Judkins, who didn’t score but had two assists and a turnover in 9 minutes.

Even David Bagga got in on the scoring, nailing a three-pointer in the closing minutes of the game.

Arizona’s next game will be on Friday, as the Wildcats head to College Station to take on Texas A&M.
