Practice starts today

Today is an exciting day for Arizona’s men’s basketball program, as the Wildcats begin practice for their 2008-09 campaign.

There are so many questions to be answered in the weeks leading up to the first game of the season, and we’ll begin to know just how good this team will be shortly.

Some questions to be answered:

Which of the four freshmen are ready to contribute?

Is Fendi Onobun healthy and can he provide minutes at the four or five?

Can Alex Jacobson overcome everyone’s low expectations but Lute Olson’s and contribute?

Will Olson last the entire season?

What will Mike Dunlap’s impact on the team be?

Will Chase Budinger step up as a leader?

Will Jordan Hill stay out of foul trouble?

Can Nic Wise go from role player to star?

All of these questions and more will be answered in the coming days. If this season is anything like those of recent years, this year should be filled with no shortage of drama and excitement.

Both have been staples of UA basketball in recent years and there’s no reason to believe anything will change this season.

We’ll know for sure starting today.
