Arizona Predictions

As many others seem to be doing, I felt like giving some opinions on what I think Arizona is going to do and not do this season. Here goes:

1. Arizona makes bowl

Yes, this will be the year Arizona finally makes a bowl game. It won’t be a good one – probably something like the Emerald – but whatever, when you’re Arizona you take what you can get. U of A fans will be very happy to get to a bowl.

2. Mike Stoops keeps his job

Arizona’s bowl game means that Mike Stoops survives and gets at least another year as head coach of UA. Good for him!

3. Good recruiting class for Wildcats

With questions of Stoops’ job security temporarily relieved, the Wildcats’ assistant coaches do their best recruiting job yet, securing a Top 15 class. Unfortunately, ASU’s class is considered better, especially in state.

4. Nic Grigsby loses his job

Arizona’s erratic running back is the football team’s version of Chris Rodgers: talented but nuts. He’ll screw up again and Keola Antolin will take his spot.

5. Matt Scott struggles

Let’s face it: It’s tough for a true freshman quarterback to come in and do anything at all. We need to let the kid grow up and stop having so many expectations for him right away. It’s not fair for him.
