Spring Game wraps up practices

Posted Apr 13, 2008

Spring ball is over. The Arizona offense scored four touchdowns in the Spring Game and now face the long summer before fall camp opens in early August.

The Wildcats’ top three passers all led the Wildcats to touchdowns.

Starting quarterback Willie Tuitama was the most successful from a scoring standpoint. He led the offense to a field goal on the first drive then led the team to a pair of touchdown drives.

The first drive was keyed by a long pass to Rob Gronkowski and finished off with a short Nicholas Grigsby scoring run.

Gronkowski led the receivers with four catches for 75 yards. Grigsby ran eight times for 29 yards.

Tuitama also threw a 30-yard pass to Mike Thomas.

The senior passer was 20-36 for 231 yards, a TD and an INT.

Corey Hall had the interception for the defense.

Bryson Beirne was a decent 7-10 for 72 yards. He did not mount any long drives, but did hit Rod Rivera over the middle for a 44-yard touchdown pass.

Tyler Lyon did not have a TD pass, but did hit Kyle Day on a 34-yard pass that led to a Glyndon Bolasky touchdown run.

Lyon was 7-8 for 77 yards.

The defense forced one turnover and had four sacks. Sterling Lewis led the way with eight tackles and had one of the four sacks.
