Arizona looked like they were going to get blown out of their own building, but used a big second half to down No. 9 Texas A&M 78-67

Jerryd Bayless played the best game of his young career, scoring 26 points, getting a big bucket whenever the Cats needed one. If his scoring was not enough, the freshman guard also dished out six assists.

Texas A&M looked like they were going to walk away with the game in the first half. They built up a big lead based on a 17-1 run thanks in large part to dominant inside play.

The Cats trailed by as many as 20, but cut the lead down to 12 at the half thanks in part to a 16-6 run that saw Bayless score seven in a row.

The start of the second half saw Arizona continue to chip away at the lead and an 11-0 run finally put Arizona up.

Texas A&M were able to take the lead on two more occassions, but Arizona countered and pulled away down the stretch.

Chase Buddinger scored 19 points, while Jordan Hill chipped in 13 off the bench.

The Aggies came into the game averaging 13 more rebounds than their opponents, but their towering front line had just one more board than the Wildcats.
