LSU claims the top spot this week as USC struggled on the road to beat unranked Washington. The real surprise was not the fact that LSU received 11 of the 20 first place votes, but that Cal actually received two of the votes. With five of the Top 10 teams losing last week, there’s been some reshuffling so take a look around to see where your team ended up in the standings.

USC’s fall from grace was long overdue as the LSU Tigers have been scratching and crawling their way closer to the top since the season started.  The Tigers now lead the Trojans by four points and four first place votes.

Cal, coming off a big win at Oregon, jumped to number three and picked up two first place votes.  The Bears have a lot of votes to make up if they expect to surpass USC anytime soon.

A quartet of 5-win schools is next, beginning with Ohio State.  The Buckeyes are then followed by Wisconsin, Boston College and Kentucky.  South Florida jumps to #8 after their emotional win over West Virginia last Friday night.

Florida and Oklahoma, both coming off upset losses, round out the Top 10.

Oregon is at #11 while Georgia, West Virginia, Arizona State and South Carolina are ranked in order with the 12 and 15 spots only separated by 20 total votes.

The undefeated Hawaii Warriors claim the 16 slot ahead of Virginia Tech, Missouri and Cincinnati.  At #20 is Purdue, followed by Texas, Clemson and Rutgers.

UCLA and Nebraska close out the rankings.
