Cats over WSU

For Arizona it was a must win game. Although they had a long hill to climb if they hope to have any chance at a bowl game, a loss would have been devastating to their confidence. The Cats got two great performances from two true freshmen.

It was a game full of freshmen firsts. Nicholas Grigsby not only had career highs in rushing yards, receiving yards and attempts, but his 186 yards are the most by a Wildcat freshman since Ontiwaun Carter in 1991.

Rob Gronkowski is already doing things few Arizona tight ends have ever done, much less as a true freshman. He had 118 yards and two scores on just four catches.

Mike Thomas also had a pair of touchdowns, moving him into the schools top-10 career touchdown list.

Willie Tuitama threw for 346 yards and five scores. He was third in the nation this week in passing yards, trailing WSU' s Alex Brink and Hawaii's Colt Brennan. He also ran for a score.
