Cats in the mix for SoCal OL

There is no denying that one of Arizona's pressing needs in recruiting is on the offensive line. Although the Wildcats have a large group of young linemen, they did not add one in the last recruiting class and cannot afford to come up short this season. The good news is that they have two offensive line pledges and are in the mix for some very good players.

Ventura, California's Vaughn Dotsy is one of those players. A Scout.com three-star selection, and the 24th rated guard in the class, Dotsy has an impressive list of suitors.

Dotsy is claiming interest from Nebraska, UCLA, Arizona, Florida, LSU and Michigan among others. He says there are 8-10 schools he is currently favoring, with Nebraska, Arizona, LSU and Florida currently the schools he is planning to visit, though he admits that could change.

"It is getting pretty hectic now that coaches can call now," Dotsy admits.

Although he has a working list, he does not expect it to be trimmed down for some time.

"It's hard to say right now who my favorites are until I make my official visits," Dotsy said of trimming down his list of schools.

The Wildcats have done a good job in Dotsy's recruitment. He has already bonded with coaches Joe Robinson and Bill Bedenbaugh and there are some other advantages.

"I think if I go there I can get some early playing time," Dotsy said. "From talking to the coaches it sounds like that is a real possibility."

Dotsy also likes the fact that Arizona is close to home, but not too close.

In the end the key thing in choosing a school is not playing time or distance, but what happens if he does not play football anymore.

"One question I ask is, if I got hurt and couldn't play football would I still be happy here," Dotsy explained.

His St. Bonaventure team is 2-0.
