Brown Talks Commitment

The Arizona Wildcat coaching staff added one of the better prospects on their top target board when they landed talented three star defensive end Levar Brown from Rosenberg, Texas. WildcatInsider.com caught up with Brown to talk about his commitment to the Cats.

"I committed to Coach (Eric) Wolford when he was here," Brown said. "He was pretty excited. He was here at my house and I told him that I wanted to be a Wildcat."

For Levar the decision to become a Wildcat was largely based on the relationship that he developed with his lead recruiter.

"He is the main reason I chose to go to Arizona," Brown admitted. "I know Arizona is a great school and the program is really coming up and I really liked my visit to Arizona but Coach Wolf is the main reason I chose to go there, he is what really sold me. He has been recruiting me since my junior year and I have gotten to know him real well. He is honest and has always been true with me about everything."

For Brown his decision is also based on what his mother would want for him and according to Levar, his mother could not be happier about his decision.

"My mom is really happy for me that I am going to Arizona," he said. "She has been very supportive through the whole process and she is real supportive of me going to Arizona."

Brown had 18 offers when he chose Arizona and in the end he said he had a final top five but since his visit to Tucson he pretty much knew where he wanted to go.

"My final top five were Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska, OSU (Oklahoma State) and of course Arizona," he remarked. "I visited Arizona for the USC game and since then I pretty much knew but I didn't fully know until recently. Arizona is just where I want to go and I am excited and happy about my decision to go."

When it comes to the education aspect of his college choice, Brown says that also played a role in his decision to be a Wildcat.

"I don't exactly know what I want to major in yet," he said. "I am thinking of something in business or in entrepreneurship or something and I know that Arizona has great programs for both."
