Staff Changes Confirmed: Dimel now Co-OC Football Editor
Posted Oct 9, 2006

With the Arizona Wildcat offense struggling through the first half of the 2006 season there seemed to be changes on the horizon and head coach Mike Stoops confirmed suspicions at his weekly press conference earlier today saying that ‘minor changes’ were going to be made.

Earlier today we reported that the minor changes Stoops eluded to were that Wildcats’ tight ends coach Dana Dimel was to be promoted. The promotion is to Co-Offensive Coordinator to assist Mike Canales with the offense for the remainder of the season.

After tonight’s practice Stoops confirmed what we reported and Dimel has in fact been promoted to assist Canales with the offense.

The two will basically share play calling duties as Dimel will be the running game coordinator while Canales will handle the passing game. Editor-In-Chief Brad Allis will have more later after he attended the post practice meetings with the Arizona staff and players.
