Ross has missed a number of practices, but is expected to be in uniform and could see the field Saturday against BYU. Mike Stoops indicated on Monday that, if eligible, Ross would be in the mix at corner.
Offensive lineman Cory Elmore got the good news on Thursday and was able to practice with the team the past two days. Like Ross, Elmore was originally cleared but then pulled from practicing after the NCAA Clearinghouse decided to review his transcripts.
The news was not as good for junior college defensive tackle Gabe Long. Long told Wildcat Insider that he had passed the final class he needed to receive this associates degree but as of Friday afternoon he had not been cleared by the University.
Long is in Tucson and is awaiting word, but time is running out for him to become eligible this season.
There has been no progress on the status of freshman Braylon Broughton and he looks like he will have to wait until January to enroll.
