"When Coach Stoops came by my school in May he told my coach that he wanted me to come to their camp and if I did good I would probably get an offer," said Jones. "After the camp he told me I did a good job and that we would talk later. I am not sure how interested Arizona is in me right now so I am kind of looking forward to leaving the state. They just don't seem as interested in me as some other schools."

All schools like Cody at tight end except for California. The Bears are recruiting him the hardest currently and it is paying off for the Cal staff. "I took an unofficial visit there a couple weeks ago and I loved it. I went for a little senior day they had and just had a great time."

Cody has the same three offers; Cal, Duke, and Purdue. "Cal has the slightest lead over Purdue and Colorado right now. I would have to say though that if Colorado offered, they would probably become my solid number two school."

The Colorado coaches and other coaches have told me that they just want to see me play some games at tight end before offering," explained Jones. "This will be my first year playing the position and I will play there, at quarterback, and defensive end."

Jones got to see one of Arizona's commits up close and personal last week when Sabino scrimmaged Xaver Smith and the Sunnyside Blue Devils. "If we were keeping score they would have had like five or six touchdowns and we would have had one. I scored my first touchdown as a tight end. Xavier scored a 60 yard touchdown on their first offensive play from scrimmage. That guy is like lightning. I was really impressed with him."

Sabino plays Tucson Sahuaro this Thursday night. Cody carries a 3.3 core GPA and scored a 900 on his SAT. He will re-take it in October.
