Juniors to Watch: Hamilton

Hamilton High School

Coach John Wrenn told us about five juniors he has at Hamilton High in Chandler for next year. One of which, Travis Dixon, was a second team all-state selection after leading his squad to the state championship. We also take a look at Mekell Wesley, Ryan Tonemacher, Chris Hegge, and Daniel Hill

Travis Dixon is a 6-2, 180 pound quarterback that runs the 40 in 4.8 seconds. He passed for 1,900 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions as a junior. He also rushed for 500. Dixon was named first team all-conference and second team all-state for his efforts.

"He is just a great athlete," says Coach Wrenn. "He had a great state championship game for us last year when we won it. Travis has also been the starting point guard on our basketball team since he was a sophomore."

Mekell Wesley is a 6-0, 170 pound wide receiver that ran a 10.8 100 meter dash just yesterday. He is an all-around threat for Hamilton. He returned two kicks and two punts for touchdowns as well as caught six passes for scores. He was named first team all-conference.

"He has great speed and quickness. He is just a great playmaker for us."

Defensive Back prospect Daniel Hill is 6-0 and 185 pounds. He runs the 40 in 4.6 seconds and benches 350 pounds.

"He is a great athlete that is really strong. I think he will be a strong safety in college."

Ryan Tonemacher is a 6-4, 265 pound offensive line prospect.

"He is a great athlete with great feet for a lineman."

Chris Hegge is a 6-4, 265 pound offensive line prospect.

"He is a very good athlete for a big man."

We will be catching up with all of these players in the very near future for interviews.
