WHO NEEDS HEIGHT?
Despite being a much smaller team, Arizona outrebounded Marquette 33-32.
FAST START
Marquette hit their first three threes of the game and 4-of-5 before “cooling off” to shoot 46.7% for the half.
SLOW START
Arizona committed turnovers on their first three possessions of the game and were just 1-3 shooting on their next three trips. Marquette used that to build up a 13-2 lead in the early going
CONFERENCE USA
Marquette is the second Conference USA team that the Wildcats have faced this season. They played Saint Louis a week ago. Other than Saint Louis last season, the Cats have not faced a C-USA team since 1994 (Tulane).
NATIONAL EXPOSURE
Marquette is the third ranked team the Cats have faced so far this season. The game was the fourth straight on national television for Arizona.
FINAL FOUR
Arizona played back to back Final Four participants. Both Texas and Marquette lost in the National Semi-Finals a year ago. Had Arizona beaten Kansas in the Elite Eight, they would have met Marquette.
NOTABLE QUOTABLE
“That’s overrated. The games are like a day off.” Lute Olson on logging a lot of minutes.
