After 15 seasons in the NBA and five championship rings, Stere Kerr is hanging up his basketball jersey.
Kerr had a remarkable career at the University of Arizona, where he helped lead the Wildcats to its first ever NCAA Final Four in 1988.
He continued to add to his list of accomplishments once he was drafted in the second round of the 1988 NBA draft.

Kerr was a four-year letterman at the Unviversity of Arizona before being drafted in the second round by the Phoenix in 1988. He was traded to Cleveland in 1989, then to Orlando in 1992.

Kerr was traded to the Chicago Bulls in 1993, and it was there that his career skyrocketed. While in Chicago, Kerr played along side Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen as the Bulls won three national champions. He was traded to San Antonio in 1998 where he helped the Spurs win two national championships, the first in 1999 and then again this past season.

"He's had an unbelievable career," University of Arizona head coach Lute Olson said. "I don't think there were a whole lot of people who thought Steve Kerr would ever play in the NBA and for him to retire with five rings and a 15-year career is just unbelievable."

Kerr made his reputation at the UA as a prolific shooter and it's been his marksmanship that has made him the NBA's career leading three-point shooter, hitting 45.4 percent from beyond the arc. But Kerr was more than just a shooter.

"He could obviously shoot the lights out," Olson said. "But more importantly, he didn't make mistakes. Steve was an outstanding team player who never stopped working hard. He was just happy for the opportunity to play and never took anything for granted. That's what made him such a wonderful teammate."

Note: Steve Kerr will appear at Foothills Mall on August 22 during a broadcast of Cat Tracks on the Air on Fox Sports 1290 AM. Cat Tracks on the Air will broadcast live from Ross Court Yard in Foothills Mall from noon until 3 p.m. Please join us for the broadcast. Other former players and coaches from the UA will also be there.
