Jackson's stock rising

Vance Jackson

Vance Jackson is one of the top players in 2016. Read on to see what his father says about Arizona, his recruitment, and more.

While playing in Las Vegas, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco 2016 small forward Vance Jackson showed a little more versatility than many had seen in previous tournaments and it would not be a surprise to see him move up in the national rankings at some point.

“I was happy with how little Vance played this summer,” said Vance’s father, Vance Sr. “He was able to get down in the low box a little more and I think that was great to see because it showed that he can do more than just hang out on the perimeter.

“He is a versatile kid and he can do a little bit of everything. We don’t want people to get the impression that he just does one thing. That is far from it and I think you will continue to see his game evolve.”

While it was up in the air for awhile, it looks like Jackson Jr. will continue his career at the same high school.

“We’ve given it some thought and Vance will be back at John Bosco next year," Jackson Sr. said. "I think it will be a great learning experience for him.

"They’re losing some firepower and they need him to really step up his assertiveness."

Arizona has noticed the improvement and is recruiting Jackson as a priority prospect.

“They have told us that Vance is one of their top prospects for the 2016 class," Jackson Sr. said. "They have been at a ton of games and it’s a school that has a great vibe. We will be looking at them very hard."

As of now, Jackson does not know what his future holds.

“We don’t have any visits scheduled right now, but that could change at any time," Jackson Sr. said. "It’s kind of like his decision, it will come when we feel that it is the right time. We’re not going to force anything.”
