Rich Rodriguez has made it a point to recruit the state of Louisiana as hard as possible and while it's next to impossible to get elite prospects to leave the South, there are many other incredibly talented kids who slip through the cracks.
Shreveport (La.) Calvary Academy 2015 corner Shun Brown might be a tad undersized, but he makes the plays on the football field that has garnered the attention of college recruiters.
"I've been on unofficial visits to LSU and Alabama and a couple other places," Brown said. "Those are two of the best programs in the country and when I was there it was really cool.
"Football is what people care about there. I knew that, but just to see everything up close was impressive."
Neither school has offered Brown, which could mean a move out of the South for college.
"One of the bigger schools recruiting me is Arizona," he said. "I've talked with a couple of the coaches, including Coach Rich.
"They all say they love my game and they think that there is a chance that I could play early. It is a place that I will take a visit to."
Ideally, Brown would like to narrow his recruitment down at some point this summer.
"I'm still trying to come up with my final list, but I should have that by the end of the summer," he said.
"I want to play out the next few months and see how everything goes. If possible, I would like to decide on a school by week five of my season."
