Michael Luke: This is a stab in the dark because Jerrard Randall is an unknown commodity, but he seems to have the arm and legs to make a quick transition once at Arizona.
Being a few years older helps as well. The feeling here is if Randall immerses himself in the playbook he could have a shot to open the season under center.
Cody James Martin: Arizona is entering the second season in a row without a solid idea of who the starting quarterback will be. Will it be Anu Solomon, Conner Brewer, or someone else?
My guess is that Randall gets a long, hard look and he can absolutely win the job. At the very least, he will be pushing for that starting job and forcing the other quarterbacks to step up and compete with him.
Randall has all the weapons to be a big time quarterback in this system. His completion numbers were down in his past year of junior college, but he is already on campus and will have nine whole months to get adjusted, learn the offense, and begin working on what he needs to improve on in order to compete for the starting job. Come fall, it could be a two horse race between Randall and Solomon.
Jason Scheer: If you want a running back to come in and be close to what Ka'Deem Carey provided, Nick Wilson is your guy.
Wilson is a strong back that has no problem running over opposing players, but he actually is faster than Carey.
With the running back competition basically open, I think Wilson has a darn good chance to win it. He may be behind Pierre Cormier and Zach Green as far as learning the plays goes, but his talent level is undeniable.
