Lacy taking his time

Offensive lineman Kenny Lacy is one of the best players in Arizona. Read on to see where the Wildcats stand, when he will decide, and more.

When Rich Rodriguez arrived in Arizona, he made it no secret that he wanted the Wildcats to own the state in recruiting. The coaching staff has been working on it and is doing well with plenty of recruits.

Phoenix Mountain Pointe offensive tackle Kenny Lacy is one of the in-state prospects that the Wildcat coaches have been recruiting since they arrived on campus.

Lacy has over thirty scholarship offers, but Arizona is still in the running for the lineman, who has cut his list down to eight.

"Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, UCLA and Cal are my eight," Lacy said.

Arizona has had an advantage in the recruitment because it is one of the closest schools to the high school senior. He has visited the Arizona campus more than once and enjoyed each of his trips.

"They are up there on my list because they are one of the in state schools," Lacy said. "I'll have to watch their games this year and see how they do.

"I like that Tucson is a college town. They have a ton of good facilities there and others are being built. I think that it would be a good fit."

The Phoenician talks with the Arizona coaches regularly, always hearing how much they want him to be a Wildcat.

"I talk to Coach Anae, Coach Rod, and Coach Gibson every week or so when it is allowed," Lacy said. "They want me to stay in state and always make it known that they'd love to have me down there.

"As soon as the new coaches got there, they made sure to come and tell me that I still have an offer and that they want me."

Arizona and Arizona State are the only two schools that Lacy has visited, but he plans on taking a few more trips before making his decision.

Lacy plans on taking all of his official visits before making a decision. He hasn't decided where he is going to take the officials, but will likely wait until January or February before choosing a college.
