UA commit's options increasing
Allensworth remains committed to the Wildcats for now, despite the increased attention from several programs.
"Right now I am committed to Arizona," Allensworth said. "I like UA."
It could be tough for UA to hold on to Allensworth. There are a few big name programs in the picture and a few seem to be pursuing the defensive back and he is listening to them.
"Wisconsin just offered me," Allensworth said. "They're on me pretty hard, so is UCLA and my recruiting is picking up with USC."
Allensworth currently possesses offers from at least four schools and believes he will receive another from the most prestigious football program in the Pac-12.
"The closest school to offering is probably USC," Allensworth said. "Besides them I haven't really been in contact with any other schools."
Despite the attention garnered from some big name football schools, Allensworth hasn't broken his commitment. He still maintains a consistent line of communication with the Arizona staff, speaking with them on a weekly basis.
"I try to speak with them once a week if it is possible," Allensworth said. "I speak with them on a reoccurring basis when it is allowed."
While UA still remains in the driver's seat to retain Allensworth, he may visit a few campuses over the summer to get a better feel for what he wants to do.
"I need to speak it over with my dad," Allensworth said. "And we will go from there."
The defensive back is still seemingly open despite his commitment. He isn't exactly clear on what could pry him away from UA, but he admits there is a chance it could happen.
"It would take a school that is better," Allensworth said. "One that's a better fit."
The next few months should be intriguing for Allensworth. While he has verbally told the Wildcats he will play football for them, he has also left the door open for another program to swipe him away. If Arizona can fend off the competition, Allensworth could close his recruitment to other suitors at the end of the summer.
"I want to do it before the start of my senior season, so I can focus on football," Allensworth said. "That's what I want to do, but I don't have an exact date."
