McConnell to Arizona

After much speculation, Arizona has finally got its man. Read on to see the type of player Arizona will add, as T.J. McConnell has decided to become a Wildcat.

After much speculation, one of the worst kept secrets surrounding Arizona has been made public, as former Duquesne point guard T.J. McConnell is officially headed to Arizona.

McConnell visited Arizona on Thursday and Friday and although other media outlets indicated that Virginia may be a player in McConnell's decision, it always seemed like Arizona was the school to beat.

The impact of McConnell coming to Arizona is large, as it will give the Wildcats a veteran point guard in two years as it prepares to make a National Championship run. Last season, McConnell averaged about 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game in a conference that was arguably better than the Pac-12.

Arizona had an advantage in the McConnell recruitment as soon as it was announced that he was transferring, as Miller and Tim McConnell played on the Little Panthers team that performed dribbling exhibitions at halftime of Pitt games at Fitzgerald Field House when they were in grade school.

McConnell will have to sit out next season, but will pretty much guaranteed the starting spot the year after.

The Wildcats are adding a player that was named A-10 Rookie of the Week a Duquesne record-tying five times and broke both the Duquesne single-season and A-10 rookie steal records with 91 in 32 games.
