Winslow changes visit date

Justise Winslow

2014 forward Justise Winslow was originally going to visit for the Red and Blue game, but has changed the date. Read on to see when he will visit, what he thinks of Arizona, and more.

Originally expected on campus for the Red and Blue game on October 22nd, it seems there have been a change in plans for Houston small forward Justise Winslow.

"I'll be visiting Arizona on January 28th for the College Gameday game against Washington," Winslow said. "I was supposed to come out for the Red and Blue game, but that interfered with my basketball schedule."

Despite the date switch, the number four small forward in the class of 2014 is ready to see what Arizona is all about after hearing good things from one of the program's recent visitors.

"I'm really excited to visit Arizona," Winslow said. "My friend Jahlil Okafor just got back from a visit there and he said that he really liked it. He said that the campus was nice and that the weather and facilities are really nice."

On his visit, the 6-foot-6, 190-pound sophomore will have a chance to see for himself the program that head coach Sean Miller has been attempting to sell him on.

"I'm being recruited right now by coach Miller and coach (Joe) Pasternack," Winslow said. "I like coach Miller a lot, I like his style of play. Mainly when we talk he talks to me about the positives of coming to Arizona and their playing style, the weather, and the proximity to home."

Winslow was able to take in that style of play for himself as he watched Arizona advance to the Elite Eight of the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

"I got to watch Arizona play during the tournament, Winslow said. "They were an underrated team; they showed how good they were when they beat Texas. I think it's a really good school, I can for sure see myself playing there."

After watching the team perform and continuing to get to know the coaching staff throughout the recruiting process, Winslow is ready to find out exactly what it's like to be a member of the Arizona Wildcats basketball team.

"On my visit I'm going to try to talk to the players and see what they can tell me, like the inside stuff on the school," Winslow said. "The coaching staff is also really important to me."
