Arizona had a rough game against UCLA on Saturday and WildcatAuthority.com gives out the grades as Arizona needs to rebounds this week.
After dropping their second game of the road trip in Los Angeles, the
Arizona
Wildcats are now tied atop the Pac-10 conference standings after a 71-49 loss to
UCLA
. Arizona now returns home to finish out the regular season.
Here is how we graded the players at WildcatAuthority.com in their loss against UCLA:
Derrick Williams
: It seemed early that Williams was going to open up the offensive arsenal after a disappointing showing against USC.
The big man had a lot of energy offensively but like the rest of his teammates could not do much on the defensive end. While he had 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting and seven rebounds, the front court of the Bruins pretty much got whatever they wanted.
Grade: C
Kyle Fogg
: Fogg did not shoot the ball particularly well but was aggressive when Arizona did need someone else to step up offensively. He shot nine times, making three and two of them were from beyond the arch. The shooting guard had 10 points and led the team in assists with three.
Grade: D+
Kevin Parrom
: Parrom showed some energy during the game but was too out of his characteristic game as well. He shot 2 of 6 from the field for five points and missed both of his three-point attempts.
Parrom only grabbed two rebounds and this was a game where Arizona was going to need several players crashing the boards.
Grade: D
Lamont Jones
: It’s tough to help get the team going if you are not shooting well in which Jones shot 2 of 8 from the field.
The point guard did not help with distributing the ball either as he had no assists for the game. Arizona got no assists from the point guard position.
Grade: D
Kyryl Natyazhko
: The Wildcats needed some frontcourt defensive help against UCLA and looked to Natyzahko too spell some minutes. He too had a rough time as well and could not keep up with his opponents. In 16 minutes of play, the center scored two points and made his only field goal attempt.
Grade: D-
Solomon Hill
: You always have high expectations of Hill because he can do so much on the court. Good indication of his energy is his rebounding and what he can do in transition.
To go along with his two points on 1 of 5 shooting, he grabbed two rebounds and had no assists. Hill has now not had an assists in each of the last two games.
Grade: D-
Jesse Perry
: Perry could not get anything going all night, shooting 0 for 5 from the field. He too had a rough time guarding the front court as players such as
Reeves Nelson
scored 27 points and collected 16 rebounds. To Perry’s credit, he led the team in offensive rebounds with two.
Grade: D-
